A wonderful little Welsh cricket table with a superbly figured one inch thick single plank ash top and three turned legs which are pegged into a further one inch thick plank which is in turn fixed to the underside of the top and gives the table excellent weight and stability. The three stretchers are spokeshaved rather turned. The table has wonderful colour and patination throughout and measures 17 inches in diameter x 24 1/2 inches high. A very similar table is illustrated in Tim Bowen Antiques catalogue no 26 in which it is ascribed to Cardiganshire circa 1740.
