A pair of late 17th century oak back stools with the typical features of chairs from South Lancashire, such as the pyramid finials and lunette crests carved with flowers and grapes (see Chinnery pages 482-485). Excellent colour and patination. Overall height 40 inches, seat height 18 inches.
