This extraordinary little piece of early oak furniture must have been specifically made for a child. Presumably it is a desk as it has a slope with a book rest above a single drawer and under that is a slide which has 17th century block paper on its underside. To the sides and back are small moulded shelves and it has turned baluster legs terminating on their original feet. It has a lovely untouched grey colour that is often seen on church pieces. 24 1/2 inches wide x 16 inches deep x 31 inches high.
