A stunning early 18th century burr walnut bookcase with a pair of doors with bevelled edge mirrors and with candle slides below. The interior to the bookcase with adjustable shelves and with a stepped interior to the bureau which has a central cupboard, small drawers, pigeon holes and bound book slides. Beneath the sliding well shelf there are secret drawers. Below are two short and two long drawers with original brass handles. The bun feet probably old replacements. Wonderful untouched colour and rich patination. 44 inches wide (on the cornice) x 23 1/2 inches deep x 84 inches high.
