I am always being asked for coffee tables and of course they did not exist in the 17th and 18th centuries. However, this early 18th century low table fulfills the role very well. It has been reduced in height from a doughbin and is constructed in finely figured elm. The one piece top lifts off allowing useful storage space and it stands on columnar legs joined by box stretchers. It is very stable and has excellent colour. It measures 31 inches x 18 inches across the top and is 20 inches high.
