Dating to about1700/30 and from the Low Countries, this very attractive pair of apothecary cylindrical bottles are typically decorated with peacocks, tassels and human faces. One bears the inscription DIASCORD.FRAC which was apparently an electuary with panacea-like virtues. The inscription on the other reads U AUREUM which was known as the Golden Ointment and was a salve made from saffron, frankincense and other resins. They stand 7 inches high.
