This exquisite little chest measures just 25 inches wide but stands on good high legs. The boarded top is held by old but later hinges, the front and back are double panelled and it has single panelled sides. The carving is exceptional with the crowning glory being a pair of a pair of matched dragons on the top rail suggesting a Gloucestershire origin (see Chinnery page 418 for a discussion on this feature).It has superb rich colour and patination and measures 25 inches wide x 13 inches deep x 20 1/2 inches high.
