This charming little chest was almost certainly made for a child and has a one piece oak lid held by its original wire hinges and a double panelled front with fine quality carving typical of Gloucestershire or Somerset and the sides and back are also panelled. Circa 1670, it measures just 28 1/2 inches wide x 12 1/2 inches deep x 15 inches high.
