This charming group depicts Saint Anne, seated and with the Christ Child on her lap and the Virgin Mary kneeling on some steps beside her reading from a book. Carved in the round, the alabaster has a lovely patinated finish, dated from the last quarter of the sixteenth century and stands about 16 1/2 inches high.
