Recently acquired from a very long standing collection in Suffolk, this superb early 17th century oak chest has a triple panelled top held by its original butterfly hinges, a lunette carved top rail, three diamond carved panels and carved spandrels. It has a fine original hasp, lockplate and a working key. The chest is in excellent untouched condition throughout and has lovely rich patination. 46 inches wide xx 22 1/2 inches deep x 29 1/2 inches high.
