An early 18th century oak dresser base of typical Montgomeryshire form with a moulded edge top, three moulded edge drawers, a waist moulding with chequerwork inlay, an ogee arch apron, three baluster turned front legs and a potboard at the base. Superb patination and colour. See Christie's Grimshaw Hall sale in 2000 where a similar base fetched £23,000. See also Richard Bebb "Welsh Furniture" vol.
