A stunning late 18th century slipware dish.

Sometimes described as "boar's head" dishes, this lovely baking dish has a cream slip, brown combed decoration and a pie crust edge. It is probably a London made dish from the the Isleworth Pottery. There is a very similar dish of the exact same dimensions currently available priced at £5500 and another sold at Mitchells of Cockermouth in 2017 for £5000. See English Slipware Dishes 1650-1850 by Ronald Cooper figures 332&333 for another very similar example that is in the Stoke on Trent Museum. 18 1/2 inches x 15 inches x 3 inches high.
