Probably from the Welsh Borders or Shropshire, this outstanding oak dresser base is in excellent untouched condition and never had a rack. The moulded edge top has a fixed shelf at the rear with four small drawers above three deep drawers which are crossbanded and with an attractively shaped apron below which is repeated on the panelled sides. The colour and patination are outstanding. A similar example was sold by Christies as part of the John Parry Collection in 2010 when it fetched £16250. Interestingly it had been found in Shifnal in Shropshire. 67 inches wide 20 1/2 inches deep x 33 inches high.
