From the second half of the 16th century this chest, though small, is robustly constructed with thick stiles and rails. The front has two linenfold panels, the sides with single plain panels and the back with double panels. The double panelled lid is held by its shaped strap hinges and the interior retains its lidded till. The lock is later but it has its original heart shaped lockplate. Excellent untouched colour. Circa 1570. 40 1/2 inches wide x 19 inches deep x 29 1/2 inches high.
