Probably dating to about 1730, this oak chest has four graduating moulded edge drawers and stands on low bracket feet. The proportions are very unusual being just 31 inches wide x 51 inches high x 18 inches deep. It is almost certainly an estate made piece and has one side panelled and the other boarded and this is original. It has excellent honey colour. Provenance : the Ormsby Gore family and probably at some point in their house in Shropshire, Brogyntyn Hall.
