A George II elm chest of narrow proportions front to back with four graduated drawers with their original pierced brass handles and escutcheons. The two plank top with a good heavy moulding to the edge and the drawers with a double moulding which is integral to the drawers and with similar mouldings on the front of the sides. The base incorporates the well shaped ogee feet. The sides are elm and the back is pine. Lovely colour and figuring to the timber. Circa 1740. 34 inches wide x 19 inches deep x 33 inches high.
