Dating from the last quarter of the 17th century, this chest of drawers is veneered in oyster cut olivewood of the highest quality. With two short and three long drawers, it stands on bun feet and has wonderful colour and patination. Acquired privately, it was until the end of the last century part of a collection in a large house in the North of England and since then has been in a house near Southwold. It measures 38 inches wide x 22 3/4 inches deep x 35 3/4 inches high.
