A top quality Charles II oak chest in two parts with a thin moulded edge top, panelled sides and boarded back. The three side hung drawers have geometric mouldings and are inlaid with ash and an exotic timber, possibly snakewood. It has additional decoration in the form of split baluster appliques. Excellent colour and patination. See Chinnery fig 4:52 for a similar example. 38 1/2 inches wide x 21 1/2 inches deep x 36 inches high.
