A small but charming late 16th century Hispano-Moresque dish of typical form and decoration. It has an interesting provenance having been given to the poet Anthony Thwaite by his fellow poet and friend James Fenton who later became Professor of Poetry at Oxford and a very successful screenplay writer. It has old label on the back which confirms this. 9 inches diameter.
