A beautifully carved late 17th century armchair with caned back and seat. The crest rail is intricately carved with foliage and centrally is a bust depicting a lady, possibly Queen Mary. the front stretcher is carved with a pair of lions holding a crowned cypher of intertwined initials. the chair is constructed in beech and elm which are stained and may well have been gilded originally.
