A superb example of country furniture, this lowboy dates to about 1700 and has a cross and feather-banded top in burr elm with a moulded edge above three drawers and a shaped apron, four fluted legs to the front and two to the rear. The flat wavy stretcher to the front is also in burr elm and the bun feet are original. Stunning colour and patination. The drop handles are through the original holes but it is impossible to say whether they are original. 32 inches wide x 19 inches deep x 28 inches high. There was a similar example in walnut in the Parry Collection at Christies in 2010, estimate £30-50,000.
