A mid 17th century oak panelled coffer.

The type and quality of the carving on this coffer suggests it was constructed in Wiltshire, probably in the Salisbury district. It has a three panelled top held by its original wire hinges and retains its internal till. The three panelled front is profusely carved with various designs incluing lunette, chevron and SS scroll. Excellent rich dark patination and colour. 47 inches wide x 21 1/2 inches deep x 26 inches high.
