Dating from the last quarter of the 17th century, this "winged" or easy chair was made to provide extra comfort and has wings to protect the sitter from draughts and to act as a headrest. The chair is upholstered on the back and seat in contemporary crewel work. In all a remarkable survivor. 43 1/2 inches high x 25 inches wide.
